Frank Lucas, Third Baseman
Frank "Cuz" Lucas came to the Grays with noble base ball bloodlines in the thoroughbred tradition, being the cousin and protege of the legendary Charlie "Suds" Dryer. When he accompanied the team on its final road trip of the 2003 season, he became the youngest regular player in Grays history at 20 years old (not counting the brief but fabled career of 16-year-old Marty "Moose" Patterson). He is possessed of prodigious strength, and has already rattled many a pitcher with towering long hits. His strikeouts are expected to decrease as his batting eye matures, and he has the potential to become one of the best players in vintage base ball. He is equally at home in left field, third base and first base. |
